Tonight had it's scary moments, but when the final whistle blew the Lady Templars came out on top again 3-1. I was very proud of the girls tonight. Although they started each half very sluggish, once they decided to play, they showed me that they really have been listening for the last three weeks.
I was very impressed by the midfield play of Taylor Daniels, Brianna Murray, and Amelia Osmond today. In our style of play the midfielders run more than anyone else on the field because they have to be the link between the defenders and the forwards on offense and then they are still expected to fulfill their defensive responsibilities (i.e. make the 50 yard sprint to get back into postition once we lose possession).
Our next game will be our greatest challenge of the season. Beaver has two very tall, strong, and athletic players that our incredibly dangerous. If we can control our first touch and play tough, smart defense it will be a great match. Hope to see you there!
