I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who came to the meeting last night. I know it was not an extremely exciting event, but it was very helpful. For those of you who could not attend we talked about what the girls want to purchase this year and the ways we are going to fund them. The girls would like to purchase personalized jackets and they would like to attend a summer soccer camp. Depending on what jacket/camp options they choose this could mean raising anywhere from $100 - $350 by July. To hlep ease the finacial burden on the parents we have chosen four fundraisers. In February the girls will be selling Little Caesar's pizza kits. The girls will earn $5 for each kit they sell. This has been an easy and successful fundraiser in the past, so hopefully the girls can take advantage of it this year. In March the girls will be selling Kent's Gift Certificates. The gift certificates will be in $50 increments and the girls will earn $5 for every gift certificate they sell. We have never done this fundraiser before, but it should be a great success because everybody would be spending that money on groceries anyway, we just get a cut of it. In April we will be hosting a youth clinic for girls ages 3rd to 8th grade. The girls have the potential of earning about $20 for every girl they sign up. In May we will be hosting our second annual Templar Classic 3v3 Tournament. This was our best fundraiser last year. We have the potential of earning $20 -$30 for every team we get signed up. It was a lot of fun and I think it can only get bigger and better. Finally Mr. Hugentobler came and did a presentation on the Manti Toolbar. This is a toolbar you can put on your computer that will keep you up to date with the events going on at the high school as well as earn us money just by using the search engine that is incorporated with it. Basically Yahoo is trying to win advertising money back from Google. If we use the search engine and click on one of the top 5-10 "sponsored" links we get 10 cents for each click we make. This doesn't seem like much, but if everyone were to use it 1-3 times every time they sat down to use internet, I think it has the potential to pay great dividends. The best thing about it is that it is FREE, we don't have to sell anything and we use the internet everyday anyway.
The summer camps, their dates, and prices are listed on the revised calendar below. Please look over them and if you did not get a chance to vote on your top two choices last night. Please email me at templarsoccer@yahoo.com with your choices. From the cards that were turned in last night the top three choices are 1. Dixie State (July 4th - 8th) 2. UVU Coach Camp (See June Calendar) 3. SUU (June 20th -24th). I am still researching the UVU option. I will let everyone know which camp we will be doing as soon as possible. Thanks again for all of your help!
